What is CodeGem?

CodeGem is not just another coding competition. It’s a 10-day virtual hackathon designed to push participants beyond their comfort zones, testing their technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced, real-world setting.

How It Works

Participants will compete in teams of 3-4 members, with at least one Frontend Developer and one Backend Developer (a Tester is optional). Over the course of 10 days, teams will go through three intense rounds, each designed to test different aspects of software development:

Round 1: Participant’s Choice Project

The first round is all about creativity. Teams get to choose their own project, build something innovative, and showcase their coding skills. The best projects will advance to the next round.

Round 2: The UI/UX Puzzle

This is where things get tricky. Teams will be given a rough UI/UX design—but with minimal details on user experience and animations. The challenge? Bring it to life. This round tests how well participants can interpret, structure, and refine a design into a seamless user experience.

Round 3: The Final Showdown

Only the best teams make it here. In this round, participants will present their projects to a panel of industry experts and face a mock/stress interview that simulates real-world job challenges. It’s not just about coding—it’s about defending your work under pressure and proving you’re ready for the tech industry.

Who Can Participate?

CodeGem is open to students and recent graduates (2024 pass-outs) who want to challenge themselves in a competitive coding environment. If you’re passionate about tech and ready to compete, this is your chance.

Tech Stack Required

To participate, applicants must have knowledge of:

• Frontend: React.js
• Backend: Node.js / Express.js
• Database: PostgreSQL / MySQL
